Your Exclusive Use Wedding Venue Information

• Weddings are for up to 150 guests

• We recommend 2-3 arranged visits at Wellington Wood  before your wedding date. These visits are very useful and a great opportunity to get to know the place and for us to sit with you and chat about your wedding plans here. Visits are by appointment so we are all ready and prepared to make the most of our meetings. You are also welcome to organise an Engagement photo session here which is a lovely for yourselves and your photographer to get to know the place and each other. 

• A deposit is required at the time of booking as confirmation. The balance is to be paid at least 12 weeks before your wedding date.   

• The weekend booking at Wellington Wood will include access for preparation from Thursday in the same week.  We want your suppliers or family and friends that are helping to feel they have ample time to come over and set up. The gate will be open with unlimited parking and access for all the exciting wedding preparations and we hope all will enjoy the process at the same time. 
• Forest Cottage is available from Thursday. 
• The Shepherd Huts are available from Friday.
• Glamping & Camping is available from Saturday.

• Wedding suppliers will have access from Thursday. Suppliers such as catering and florists may need those extra hours on the day. We always recommend an afternoon ceremony time to give suppliers time to finish any little details and any guests staying here enough time to arrive on time. 

• Sunday is the final day and you and your guests are welcome to take your time in the morning with view to leaving in the  afternoon. 

• A wedding plan is necessary for us to help you, we’ll help you create one. We keep this information safely secure and require an accurate updated list of all names of suppliers and their information for immediate reference. 

You will have exclusive use of

• The wildflower meadow
• 3 giant tipis with wooden flooring throughout, fully furnished with rustic furniture with dining tables and chairs for 150, and sofas and armchairs to chill out.
• A choice of ceremony areas
• The Noggin Bar
• Forest Cottage wedding accommodation
• 2 Luxury Shepherd Huts
• The paddock for additional Luxury Bell Tents your guests can reserve themselves.

• We have a ‘Leave no trace” policy and give you the option to remove all your own decor, rubbish and anything else you may have brought or we can organise a clear up for you at an extra fee. Once rubbish is cleared and all decorations removed with no major breakages of rules or property and no loss or damages we will happily return your deposit monies. 

• We have a fire pit area that will already be organised and maintained for you. Smoking is allowed in permitted areas. Cigarette butts must be extinguished and put in the cigarette sand buckets provided. Only firewood that we have provided may be used and no wood is to be taken from other areas. We do not allow fire lanterns & fireworks. 

• We ask that only natural petal confetti is used.

• We really love it when couples organise a stylist or their friends and family to decorate the venue to compliment their own wedding style. All decor must be not cause any damage to the property. We will help you with decor planning where needed.

• We do not have any very close neighbours but we ask that all behaviour and noise is kept to a respectable level. Music of your own choice can be played throughout the ceremony and at the reception. Amplified music is allowed til midnight with all guests settling in the glamping area or peacefully leaving the site soon after.

• Guests are free to enjoy the meadow area and surrounding woodlands. There are signs of no entry around our private home on the land which we would appreciate respect for. The entire estate is securely ring fenced with no public right of way and with only one gated drive. It is still very important that any children are looked after at all times and kept safe around the fire pit.  

• Wedding couples’ pets  are allowed here, just let us know so we can plan a few extra super VIP-doggie details for their enjoyable stay here.

• We are licensed to serve alcohol until midnight. We reserve the right to refuse alcohol if there is any anti-social behaviour. 

• Our paddock carpark is a huge convenient parking area close by. We ask that all cars are driven slowly and parked in the car park area. We welcome bus and coach hire for your guests. Parking for buses or coaches are very welcome.

• There is cold running water in the meadow and plenty of toilets.
• We have mains electricity outside with special provisions for bands and lighting in the stage area in our Tipis. 

• The ground is flat and easily accessible. It is the region’s famous firm, sandy soil so there is never any mud here. There are no smooth paths however the area is still accessible for wheelchairs with a small ramp available into one of the ceremony circles. 

• Only a professional catering company is  to take charge of all food either in their own mobile catering set up or within a catering tent. We welcome guests bringing cakes and can store them for a tea-time Bake-Off but all other food must be provided and prepared by a catering company.   

• We ask that all external suppliers you choose to use have the correct and proper liabilities, safety certificates and insurances.

• We ask that you use The Noggin bar for your wedding party and we can happily discuss corkage-free table wine. Since we are licensed to sell alcohol, we are not a dry-hire venue.
